THE HOMO GENUS
[En] From the first chapter of the book “A Brief History of Humanity” written by Yuval Noah Harari, illustration is used like a pedagogical tool to introduce a short and general part of Prehistory. Without seeking to present Homo Sapiens, the plates evoke the great Homo species that have been discovered as of today's date: Homo Sapiens, Homo Neanderthalensis, Homo Floresiencis, Homo Denisova, Homo Erectus and many others.

À partir du premier chapitre du livre “Une brève Histoire de l’Humanité” de Yuval Noah Harari, l’illustration est utilisée comme outil pédagogique afin d’introduire une courte et générale partie de la Préhistoire. Sans chercher à parler spécifiquement de Homo Sapiens, les planches évoquent les grandes espèces d’Homo qui ont été découvertes jusqu’à ce jour : Homo Sapiens, Homo Neanderthalensis, Homo Floresiencis, Homo Denisova, Homo Erectus et bien d’autres.
THE RED-HEADED HOOPOE
[En] A hybrid bird called the Red-headed Hoopoe was invented from the European Goldfinch and the Eurasian Hoopoe. Trying to prove its existence, many ways have been considered and created.
Its bird song is conceived as a flowing and repeated twittering, similar to the streaming of water. A Wikipedia page is put online to present it (then blocked). Naturalistic illustrations and photomontages are produced showing a bird with a pointed, slightly curved beak, a forked and black tail, small dark brown eyes and gray legs. Its distinctive characteristic is in its voluptuous crest and scarlet red face, surrounded by white, and its back and sides slightly brown or orange.

[Fr] C’est à partir du Chardonneret élégant et du Huppe fasciée qu’a été inventé un oiseau hybride nommé le Huppe à tête rouge. Pour tenter de prouver son existence, de nombreux moyens ont été mis en place.
Son propre chant a été conçu comme un gazouillis fluide et répété, ressemblant au ruissellement de l’eau. Une page Wikipédia a été mise en ligne (puis bloquée). Des illustrations naturalistes et des montages photographiques ont été rélisés le présentant comme un oiseau avec un bec pointu et légèrement courbé, une queue fourchue et noire, de petits yeux marron foncé et des pattes grises. Sa particularité réside dans sa voluptueuse crête et sa face rouge écarlate, entouré de blanc ainsi que le dos et les flancs légèrement bruns ou orangés.
